The Public Authority offers the following services free of charge:
Deaf and hearing-impaired people:
1.1. Free sign language interpreting service for both incumbents and substitutes
1.2. A free magnetic induction loop service for users of hearing aids for both incumbents and substitutes.
Blind, deaf-blind persons, both incumbents and substitutes, receive the support determined by the Area Electoral Board.
Persons with intellectual disabilities, both incumbents and substitutes, receive the support determined by the Area Electoral Board.
How to apply:
These kinds of support can be requested from the Area Electoral Board, in writing and within seven days of the notification of their appointment. The Area Electoral Board shall inform the Provincial Government Office or Sub-Office of all resolutions it adopts and the specific means of support to be provided
If you want to submit an application for exemption:
Bear in mind that you can request exemption from the obligation to be a polling station officer due to a situation of disability, declared in accordance with article 4 of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2013 of 29 November approving the revised text of the General Law on the rights of persons with disabilities and their social inclusion.
The submission of a declaration of disability, whatever the degree of disability, by the interested party will be sufficient for the Area Electoral Board to accept the reason, without the need to provide a medical certificate listing the limitations preventing or constraining the performance of the functions of a polling station officer ( Instruction 6/2011 of 28 April(A new window will open) of the Central Electoral Board).
