Proxies and auditors of the candidatures

These may wear emblems or stickers of the political entity they represent, but only as identification of the candidatures and without them being regarded as electoral propaganda.

These are the persons who represent the candidature during electoral events and operations; they may freely access all polling places, examine the course of the voting and the counting of the votes at any voting station, submit claims and protests and request certifications.

If there are no auditors for their candidature, they may act as such at the polling station, participating in any deliberations with the right to speak but not to vote.

They must identify themselves at the polling station by displaying their credentials and National Identity Card.

They cannot vote at the polling station if they are not on its electoral roll.

Each candidature may nominate two per polling station. They perform their functions only at the polling station designated to exercise their accreditation.

They may attend the polling station and participate in any deliberations with the right to speak but not to vote. For these purposes, those acting on behalf of the same candidature at the same polling station may substitute one another.

They may submit claims and protests and request certifications.

They may vote at the polling station at which they exercise their function, even if they don’t appear on the electoral roll of said polling station, provided that this polling station is in the same constituency as the one at which they are entitled to vote in accordance with their registration on the electoral roll.

Otherwise, they may not vote at the polling station where they perform their functions, but they may vote by means of a postal vote addressed to the polling station corresponding to their registration in the census. They may exercise their right to vote once and it is an electoral offence to vote two or more times in the same election.
